Seeing a person with a large public persona, in a limo, is not unexpected. Celebrities of all kinds do seem to go with limousines naturally. Of course you don’t have to be a celebrity to have some limo time yourself, which can be very nice on occasion.
Some celebrities like the attention that a limo will garner, while others do not appreciate the extra fan-fare that ensues. Take the UK singer, Kylie Minogue for example. She feels that a limo is too much of an attention grabber and she finds that an embarrassment. She gets all the public adoration that she wants when she is onstage.
Some celebrities do prefer taking a bicycle instead of getting the limo treatment. Anna Paquin, of True Blood fame can be seen tooling around town in her pink beach cruiser. Matthew McConaughey prefers a rugged all terrain bike that has plenty of tread on the tires. Toby Maguire’s bike is built for speed with a lean frame and skinny tires that need to have a clean surface. While these and other celeb’s like to ride by their own power on two wheels, it is a different story when it is time to get fancy for a special occasion.
Leonardo DiCaprio is known to use a “green” limo when he needs to get to a special event. Hybrid limo’s are becoming more available in the last few years with their popularity going up. Some of this popularity is due to the attention that celebrities grab when utilizing these choices. Some celebrities will say one thing and then do something else, such as John Travolta. He is an advocate for alternative fuels but still enjoys his collection of jets. A private jet flight is definitely going to leave a larger carbon footprint as opposed to sharing a ride.
Some celebrities, like the rest of us, should definitely employ the choice of a limo at times. Just take a look at the mug shots of Nick Nolte, Chelsea Handler, and a great many others to get a quick idea of why a limo can be a great idea. No one wants to get a drunken driving charge, or cause an accident. Taking a limo is a smart choice when the party or event could mean a lot of drinking with the socializing or when you want to make a big impression, just like a celebrity.
