New cars are not always so wonderful, but certainly interesting.
If you want to see what new vehicle are coming out, then heading to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, is a good idea.
Losers at the show:
- 2014 Lexus IS Sports Sedan: General consensus is that the new Lexus looks more like a muscle car and there are other elegant and refined looking luxury autos to choose from.
- Jeep Cherokee: too similar to last year’s model. They made a few small changes but it was very minimal and therefore unimpressive.
- BMW Concept 4 series coupe: While the company might have the idea that this auto is quite easily differentiated from the 3 series, opinions of the public is not the same. It looks very similar and doesn’t have the futuristic look that people want from a new BMW.
- Honda Urban SUV Concept: The opinion about this small crossover is not positive. Unimpressive design is the big problem. The company has become known for some cute designs, so when something so “run of the mill” comes out, it is a surprise.
- 2014 Subaru Forester: another offering that is just too similar to last year’s model.
Show winners:
- 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray: The usual impressive style of low-slung coolness along with the muscle under the hood adds up to top listing. Improved fuel efficiency is impressive as well.
- Hyundai HCD-14 Concept: If you weren’t impressed by their efforts to get to the luxury market in the past, you will be now. It is one incredible looking vehicle.
- 2014 Bentley Continental V8: Not very wallet friendly at around 200 grand, but could be considered a gas saver with the 500 plus miles on a single tank of gas.
- Lincoln MKC Concept: Impressive interior design gives the illusion of more space in a smaller vehicle. They are pushing quality over status and it shows in the details.
- Volkswagen Cross Blue Concept: It is a diesel hybrid and can seat 7 people. The gas mileage is very impressive even if the design is pretty standard of any SUV.
- 2014 Infiniti Q50: The design is impressive with the arched roofline and the hybrid power train option is a serious plus.
- Audi RS7 Sportback: Super sporty and speedy fast (up to 190 mph). What’s impressive though is the decent gas mileage at 24 mpg.
- Ford Atlas Concept Truck: Has a solid manly look and is even longer than the F-150 on the market, by about a half a foot. The eco-boost engine will help with gas mileage.
