Probably the most obvious investment would be the vehicles needed. This is not a time to be bargain shopping. The image of a limo is one of the selling points for the service. That is one good reason why starting out with a vehicle older than 4 years old is not recommended.

Legislation and regulations affect us all in ways that we probably don’t even realize. For the limo business often these regulations are primarily to protect the consumer. There are rules that govern issues concerning safety of course, which we all agree with. No one wants to hire a driver that has been charged with drunken driving in the recent past. Nobody will want to ride in a limo that doesn’t have properly working headlights or the brake lights are out.

Some regulations though it seems are set in place to make the industry more amenable to particular companies. For example in the lovely city of Nashville the Metropolitan city council passed legislation that they tried to disguise as being for consumer protection. In June of 2010 they decided that they would raise the rates of the minimum charge for limo and sedan rentals. And that was not the only thing that they changed.

Celebrities and Limousines Do Seem to Go Together

Seeing a person with a large public persona, in a limo, is not unexpected. Celebrities of all kinds do seem to go with limousines naturally. Of course you don’t have to be a celebrity to have some limo time yourself, which can be very nice on occasion.

Some celebrities like the attention that a limo will garner, while others do not appreciate the extra fan-fare that ensues. Take the UK singer, Kylie Minogue for example. She feels that a limo is too much of an attention grabber and she finds that an embarrassment. She gets all the public adoration that she wants when she is onstage.

Some celebrities do prefer taking a bicycle instead of getting the limo treatment. Anna Paquin, of True Blood fame can be seen tooling around town in her pink beach cruiser. Matthew McConaughey prefers a rugged all terrain bike that has plenty of tread on the tires. Toby Maguire’s bike is built for speed with a lean frame and skinny tires that need to have a clean surface. While these and other celeb’s like to ride by their own power on two wheels, it is a different story when it is time to get fancy for a special occasion.
